Karachi, Web Desk – Pakistan has secured a place in the final of the Tri-Nation Series after a spectacular win against South Africa at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi. Powered by stunning centuries from Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha, the national team chased down a daunting 353-run target with six balls to spare.

South Africa Sets a Mammoth Target

Winning the toss, South African captain Temba Bavuma opted to bat first. The Proteas put up an imposing total of 352/5 in their allotted 50 overs. Heinrich Klaasen led the charge with a blistering 87 off just 56 balls, including three sixes and eleven fours. Matthew Breetzke contributed a solid 83, while Bavuma himself played a captain’s knock of 82 runs. Kyle Verreynne remained unbeaten at 44, while Tony de Zorzi (22) and Wiaan Mulder (2) added minor contributions. Corbin Bosch chipped in with an unbeaten 15.

From Pakistan’s bowling unit, Shaheen Afridi was the standout performer, claiming two crucial wickets. Khushdil Shah and Naseem Shah took one wicket each.

Chasing a formidable total, Pakistan started cautiously. The first wicket fell at 57 when skipper Babar Azam was dismissed for 23 runs. Saud Shakeel followed soon after with just 15 runs to his name. Fakhar Zaman, who showed early promise, departed for 41, leaving Pakistan at a tricky 91/3.

However, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha turned the game around with a breathtaking partnership. Both batters displayed class and resilience, dismantling the South African bowling attack. Salman Agha played an explosive innings of 134 off 103 balls before getting dismissed, while Rizwan remained unbeaten with a masterful 122 runs, steering Pakistan to a thrilling victory in 49 overs with four wickets down.

On the bowling front for South Africa, Wiaan Mulder claimed two wickets, while Corbin Bosch picked up one.
