Pakistani Protesters Demonstrate Outside Indian High Commission in London, Warn Against Hostility.
Subhead: Flashback February 2019: Protesters pledge firm action to any Indian hostile action in the wake of growing tensions following the Kashmir incident.
London Web Desk: Scores of Pakistani protesters converged outside the Indian High Commission in London this week, in a show of forceful rejection of recent Indian allegations and cautioning against a firm response to any future aggression.
The protest was initiated by increasing Indo-Pak tensions after a deadly attack on April 22 in Indian-occupied Kashmir’s Pahalgam area where 26 lost their lives and close to a dozen were injured. At the London protest, protesters made it abundantly clear: any aggressive action by India would be met with a strong and unforgettable response, comparing it to what happened in February 2019, when both countries were on the verge of war following the Pulwama attack.
Ahsan Dar, President of the UK chapter of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), spoke to the crowd, denouncing what he referred to as India’s “habitual scapegoating of Pakistan” following each incident of violence. He called on global powers to make India accountable for making unsubstantiated claims without evidence.
“Each time something happens in Kashmir, India accuses Pakistan without evidence,” added Dar. “It’s time the international community asks questions of India for its irresponsible accusations.”
**Pakistan’s Diplomatic Position**
Pakistan, while condemning the violence firmly, extended a hand for cooperation in response to the Pahalgam incident. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif even expressed full support for a neutral investigation, highlighting Pakistan’s interest in peace and transparency.
But India’s saber-rattling rhetoric keeps growing, with subtle threats of using the military. Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership has responded in a joint and stern warning: Any adventurism will be countered with a strong and abiding counterattack.
**A Call for Global Responsibility**
As tensions rise, the London protesters sent a strong message — the world cannot turn a blind eye. They urged international institutions to step in, stop further escalation, and make sure regional peace is not taken hostage by unfounded provocations.
