In a special message to mark the beginning of 2025, the Prime Minister wished the entire nation a happy New Year and emphasized the importance of learning from past mistakes—both as individuals and as a collective. He urged the nation to embrace fresh beginnings and strive for a brighter future.
Reflecting on the challenges of the past year, he noted that 2024 was marked by global crises, including economic, political, and security issues. However, he expressed optimism that 2025 would bring progress in overcoming these challenges.
Highlighting Pakistan’s achievements in 2024, the Prime Minister stated that the country’s economic indicators showed improvement. International financial institutions demonstrated confidence in Pakistan, and agreements for billions of rupees in investments were secured with friendly and brotherly nations. Additionally, the journey toward digitizing the economy began in earnest, laying the foundation for a more self-reliant economic future.
As Pakistan steps into 2025, the Prime Minister affirmed the government’s commitment to putting the economy firmly on the path of self-sufficiency. “”Today, we promise to strive for a future that is stable, bright, and full of opportunities for our nation,” he said.
He also touched upon the humanitarian crises of the past year, describing 2024 as one of the most difficult years for Palestine due to relentless Israeli aggression. He condemned the atrocities committed by Israeli forces, calling them unparalleled in recent history. Similarly, he highlighted the continued suffering of the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir, who remain under oppressive Indian rule. Expressing solidarity with these oppressed communities, he hoped that 2025 would witness their success in their struggles for freedom and justice.
Concluding his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his prayers and hopes that 2025 would be a year of progress, prosperity, and peace for Pakistan and the world.
