Karachi Web Desk: Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, a key meeting was held to review the progress of the Malir Expressway. The meeting was attended by prominent officials, including Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Special Assistant Qasim Naveed, Karachi Commissioner Hassan Naqvi, Additional IGP Javed Alam Odho, Secretary Local Government Khalid Haider Shah, and Secretary Transport Asad Zaman, among others.

- Completion of First Segment:
The Chief Minister was briefed that the first 9-kilometer segment of the Malir Expressway has been completed. He expressed his desire to open this segment to the public by January 11 or 12. - Kaidabad Intersection Deadline:
He directed the relevant authorities to ensure the completion of the Kaidabad Intersection within two months. - Automated Toll System:
An automated toll collection system is to be implemented on the expressway, with 18 toll booths already installed. - Toll Charges:
- Cars: Rs. 100
- Buses: Rs. 200
- Enhanced Security Measures:
The Chief Minister instructed the deployment of 7-8 police patrol vehicles along the expressway and emphasized stationing police patrol cars at strategic points. The Malir Expressway spans the jurisdiction of five police stations, and all stations have been tasked with ensuring the security of the expressway. - Emergency Services:
The expressway will be equipped with an ambulance and fire brigade to handle emergencies. The Chief Minister also directed the immediate arrangement of Rescue 1122 ambulances for the route. - Road Improvements:
A decision was made to enhance the road between Shah Faisal Intersection and Airport Road for smoother traffic flow.
