KARACHI,Web Desk May 7 – In a fiery address at a major protest rally near the Karachi Press Club, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah sharply criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of orchestrating the recent Pahalgam incident to deflect attention from mounting domestic issues.

Labeling Modi the “Butcher of Gujarat,” Shah condemned India’s immediate blame on Pakistan for the attack, calling it another baseless accusation in a pattern of hostility.
“India didn’t even wait 10 minutes before pointing fingers at Pakistan—without a shred of evidence,” Shah asserted. “We’ve always offered cooperation and welcomed international investigations, but India consistently chooses confrontation over dialogue.”
The protest, organized by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), drew leaders from across the political spectrum—including Jamaat-e-Islami, Awami National Party (ANP), and PML-Q—signaling rare cross-party unity in the face of external aggression.
Shah accused the Indian government of launching unprovoked airstrikes at six locations, causing civilian casualties. In response, he said, Pakistan’s military forces responded decisively and effectively.
“Our brave troops retaliated within hours, forcing the enemy to retreat. The Pakistan Air Force shot down five Indian fighter jets and a drone,” he said. “We chose not to escalate—but make no mistake, had we wanted to, not a single Indian aircraft would have returned.”
Chants of Pakistan Zindabad echoed through the crowd as Shah emphasized that Pakistan’s defense was rooted in unity and resolve, not provocation. He echoed PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s message of peace through strength, warning that any violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty would be met with zero tolerance.
The rally also celebrated recent victories by Pakistani boxers over Indian opponents—moments that Shah described as symbolic of the nation’s spirit and the youth’s strength.
“This 250-million-strong nation stands ready to shed every last drop of blood for its defense,” Shah declared, drawing roaring applause from the audience.
Other speakers included Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, ANP leader Shahi Syed, PPP Senator Waqar Mehdi, and senior representatives from Jamaat-e-Islami and PML-Q. All voiced firm resistance to foreign aggression and emphasized national unity.
