Sentences Announced for PTI Detainees Violate Principles of Justice: Omar Ayub
Pakistan Web Desk: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Omar Ayub, has responded strongly to the sentencing of civilians by military courts.
In a statement, Omar Ayub rejected the punishments handed down to civilians by military courts, emphasizing that such actions are against the principles of justice.
He stated, “The sentences given to PTI detainees are a violation of justice. The detainees are ordinary citizens, and their trials cannot be conducted in military courts.”
It is noteworthy that military courts have sentenced 25 individuals involved in the May 9 incidents to rigorous imprisonment ranging from 2 to 10 years.
