Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Omar Ayub has declared that the party is ready for negotiations with anyone, even angels.
In a media briefing in Rawalpindi, Omar Ayub outlined PTI’s negotiation policy, emphasizing that forming a national government is not the solution to the country’s challenges. He stressed the need for justice and the rule of law, stating, “Currently, the system is marked by fascism and force.”
Omar Ayub further revealed that PTI Chairman Imran Khan has established a five-member negotiation committee. He warned that if talks do not proceed, PTI will announce the next phase of its movement on December 13, potentially launching a civil disobedience campaign.
Senate opposition leader Shibli Faraz accused the “fake government” of keeping PTI entangled in baseless cases. Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar noted that as of November 26, the verified number of deceased PTI workers stands at 12. He added that the party is investigating details about missing workers and assured that any statements made by the chairman would be made responsibly.
It is worth noting that a few days earlier, PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, told the media that Imran Khan had instructed the party to initiate a civil disobedience movement if negotiations with the establishment fail.
Responding to these developments, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif predicted that PTI’s civil disobedience campaign would fail, just like its previous movements. Similarly, Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah stated that PTI is no longer in a position to organize effective protests or sit-ins.
