Relief from the Heat? Rain and Thunderstorms Headed for Punjab Tomorrow

Pakistan Web Desk– May 7, 2025:
Get ready for a weather shift! The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms for Lahore and several other parts of Punjab on Wednesday afternoon, bringing a brief break from the scorching heat.

According to the PMD, strong winds, lightning, and heavy clouds are expected to roll into the Pothohar region, including Murree, Galiyat, Sialkot, Narowal, and the provincial capital, Lahore. This weather system is predicted to arrive later in the day and may cause temporary disruptions in outdoor activities and travel.

Southern Punjab districts — including Layyah, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Taunsa, and Rajanpur — are also on alert as the skies are expected to open up with rain and thunderstorm activity.

Nighttime Forecast:
Tuesday night may bring partly cloudy skies and spotty thunderstorms to Murree and the Galiyat, accompanied by gusty winds that could impact visibility and outdoor safety.

The PMD has advised residents across the affected areas to stay alert for sudden weather changes, especially with the potential for lightning strikes and high winds. Authorities are urging citizens to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary travel during severe conditions.

While the showers will provide some much-needed relief from the heat, most districts across Punjab are still expected to experience hot and dry conditions throughout the week.
