Sindh Government Launches Groundbreaking ‘Pink Games 2025’ Across 30 Districts

Karachi, Web Desk Making history in women’s sports, the Sindh government has officially launched the first-ever Sindh Pink Games 2025 across Karachi and 30 districts of the province. The grand opening ceremony took place at Siddique Memon Sports Scout Hall Complex, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, with Sindh’s Minister for Sports, Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, inaugurating the event.

The event was attended by Secretary of Sports & Youth Affairs Abdul Aleem Lashari, Director of Sports Sindh Imdad Ali Abro, District Sports Officer Ismail Shah, Fareed Ahmed, Hajran Nawab, and other distinguished guests. Over 500 female athletes participated in a vibrant march-past, saluting the chief guest, Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar.

A Historic Step for Women’s Sports in Sindh

Speaking at the inauguration, Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar emphasized that the Sindh Pink Games aim to empower female athletes and provide a platform to showcase their talents. The event, running until February 15, 2025, marks a significant milestone in promoting women’s sports in Pakistan.

“For the first time in history, the Sindh government is organizing these Pink Games across all districts to bring forward the hidden talent of female athletes. This is a golden opportunity for young girls to prove their skills and achieve national recognition,” said the Minister.

He further added that the Sindh government is fully committed to uplifting women in sports, providing better training facilities, and ensuring equal opportunities for female athletes to compete at both national and international levels.

Over 6,000 Female Athletes Competing Across Multiple Sports

The Sindh Pink Games 2025 features over 6,000 female athletes competing in a wide range of sports, including:

  • Athletics
  • Table Tennis
  • Badminton
  • Football
  • Cricket
  • Hockey
  • Martial Arts
  • Ringball
  • Volleyball
  • Boxing
  • Throwball
  • Kho-Kho

The games have been launched in Korangi, Malir, South, Central, and East districts of Karachi, as well as in Larkana, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Shaheed Benazirabad divisions.

Special Sports Initiatives for Children with Disabilities

In a groundbreaking move, Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar also announced the establishment of the Sindh Special Children Youth Club, dedicated to children with disabilities.

“For the first time, we are creating a dedicated sports platform for children with special needs. Additionally, we are working to reclaim encroached sports grounds and develop better sports facilities across Sindh,” he stated.

The launch of the Sindh Pink Games 2025 represents a transformative moment for women’s sports in Pakistan.
