Major Meeting at KATI: STEVTA Chairman Junaid Buland Discusses Industry Needs and Training Programs

Karachi,Web Desk : A crucial meeting was held at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industries (KATI) under the chairmanship of Junaid Buland, Chairman of the Sindh Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh. The meeting was attended by KATI President Junaid Naqi and representatives from various industries.

During the discussion, industrialists highlighted the pressing shortage of skilled workforce and emphasized the need to align technical education with industry requirements. KATI representatives expressed their commitment to strengthening collaboration with STEVTA through a public-private partnership to bridge the skill gap.

Addressing the gathering, Junaid Buland reiterated the government’s dedication to supporting industrialists and enhancing these partnerships to create more opportunities for young professionals in modern industries. He stressed that sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, and IT require a highly skilled workforce, and STEVTA is determined to fulfill this demand.

He further stated that, following the directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, STEVTA’s training programs will be tailored to meet the evolving needs of industries, ensuring that young individuals gain practical and relevant skills. Buland emphasized that providing vocational training to youth was a vision of the late Benazir Bhutto, which Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is actively promoting. He reiterated that PPP’s manifesto prioritizes equipping every citizen with essential skills to contribute to national development.

As part of these efforts, inspections of all STEVTA institutes have begun to ensure improvements, with visible positive changes expected in the near future. The meeting concluded with an agreement to enhance cooperation between STEVTA and KATI, exploring the establishment of training centers under a public-private partnership framework. KATI President Junaid Naqi provided a detailed briefing to Chairman Buland and presented him with a commemorative shield as a token of appreciation.

This strategic collaboration marks a significant step towards developing a skilled workforce, aligning educational programs with industry needs, and driving economic growth in Pakistan.
